LIFE BIODAPH2O is a demonstration project whose main objective is to demonstrate the effectiveness of BIODAPH technology, an eco-efficient and nature-based tertiary treatment of wastewater, producing reclaimed water while at the same time reducing dependence on conventional energy sources, in accordance with circular and green economy criteria.
BIODAPH technology is being implemented at two demo sites located in water-stressed regions of the Mediterranean area: Lesvos Island (Greece) and Catalonia (Spain). The effectiveness of this technology contributed to the reduction of discharges of pollutants (e.g., nutrients, emerging contaminants, pathogens, and microplastics) in freshwater ecosystems and supplies high quality reclaimed water for agricultural irrigation.
